Solid Ground Services Inc. performs commercial, governmental, and gas-field excavation, utility installation, and asphalt paving services across NY and PA. We have developed over 50 Dollar General, Auto Zone, and Tractor Supply sites all over NY and PA. We have numerous notable projects with Penn State University, PA DCNR, PA DEP, and NYS Dept of Parks and Recreation. We are also a PennDOT prequalified Prime Contractor. We are one of only 8 WBE PennDOT Primes in excavation in the state of Pennsylvania, and are a PA Pre-Qualified Woman Owned Business through UCP.

Teacher in the Workplace

Description: Through a Teacher in the Workplace experience with Solid Ground Services, educators will gain an inside look at the company’s daily operations and the skills students need to succeed in the industry. Teachers will tour active job sites, observe equipment and safety practices, and learn about project planning, scheduling, and workforce demands. They will also meet with employees in a variety of roles—including equipment operators, laborers, project managers, and administrative staff—to better understand the responsibilities, training requirements, and career pathways within the field. This experience will help teachers connect classroom instruction to real-world applications and bring industry-relevant knowledge back to their students.

Mock Interview

Description: Solid Ground Services, Inc. staff is available to assist students with mock interviews. A mock interview resembles a genuine job interview, giving youth the opportunity to receive feedback and improve their skills. Students should come prepared with an up-to-date resume

Guest Speaker

Description: Representatives from Solid Ground Services, Inc will share what it’s like to own and operate a successful business in today’s workforce. Students will learn about the day-to-day responsibilities of running a company, the skills needed to succeed, and the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. The presentation will also highlight the wide range of occupations within the business—from equipment operators and laborers to project managers, safety specialists, and administrative roles—showing students the many career paths available in the industry. In addition, per request, representatives from these various positions will be available to speak directly with students about their jobs and career paths, giving them real insight into the industry.
