Bradford County Action, Inc.

Bradford County Action provides education, training and employment services to youth (age 14 to 24) and adults (age 18 and over). We employ Career Advisors, Case Managers, Adult Education/GED Instructors, Employability/Workforce Specialists as well as Administrative and Fiscal staff. We look for team members who are interested in helping people and want to make a difference with the work they do everyday. We provide one on one, small group, remote and community based services throughout Bradford County. We are a Partner in the provision of PA CareerLink services in both Bradford and Tioga (PA) counties. We also provide Adult Education/GED classes in Tioga (PA) County and Adult Education/GED classes and testing in Bradford County.

MISSION/VISION

To provide the best possible education, guidance and training to those members of the community, youth as well as adults, who may be at risk of not maintaining a reasonable standard of living and who have been unable to acquire these necessary skills through traditional channels.

Informational Interview

Description: Bradford County Action can provide informational interviews for occupations available within the agency such as Career Advisor, Case Manager, Employability/Workforce Specialist, Administrative and Fiscal positions. Students will have the opportunity for a one-on-one, in-person or virtual discussion with a professional in their field of interest. Students should be prepared to ask questions.

Job Shadow

Description: Students will have the opportunity to come to Bradford County Action and observe an employee performing their daily job duties. This experience provides students with an opportunity to determine if the career they are interested in matches their abilities, interests, and skill sets. Students should dress business-casual (no jeans or sneakers) and bring a packed lunch. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the kitchen that will be available to students who are job shadowing.

Work Experience

Description: Bradford County Action (BCA) offers limited work experience opportunities for students to learn about employability skills and implement those skills on-the-job. A work experience can be paid or unpaid, is usually part-time, and can occur during the summer or school year. Students will work with BCA staff to identify an appropriate work schedule and will be expected to be on time each day they are scheduled to work. Students participating in a work experience opportunity at BCA should be prepared to dress business-casual (no jeans or sneakers) each day they are scheduled to be in the office. There is a kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave that is available to students during their work experience.
